NUTRITION IN OBSTIPATION
Simple constipation (other than due to a pathological cause) results, in most cases, from an improper diet and lifestyle, where there is a low consumption of dietary fiber and liquids, and an insufficient physical exercise.
In the absence of medical contraindications, simple constipation should be treated by dietary means:
Increase fiber consumption – through whole grains (oats, whole wheat), wheat bran and unprocessed oats. Foods such as soup can be added , to increase the supply of fiber, vegetable roots, fruits with peel; dried fruits (prunes, dates - tip: leave a glass of water with 2 prunes overnight, and the next morning drink the water); legumes.
Increase your water consumption – you should drink one and a half liters of water a day. In the absence of fluids, dietary fiber cannot expand or soften sufficiently to exert its bulking and peristaltic effect. A hot drink or standard helps to stimulate intestinal activity.
Increase the level of physical activity – exercise improves muscle function in all parts of the body and can improve peristaltic function.
