Stretch marks can appear in the context of certain diseases or in situations where the skin is subjected to great <<mechanical tension>>, due to the disruption of dermal fibers. It occurs for several causes, usually at puberty, excessive and sudden growth and/or weight gain, excessive bodybuilding, during pregnancy, or by genetic predisposition, biological factors (quality and quantity of collagen fibers and elastin ), metabolic or endocrine dysfunctions (cortisone), hormonal (estrogen and progesterone) (obesity, too rapid weight loss, (...)

They can appear in both sexes in any part of the body. Its treatment is complex.

The sooner stretch marks are treated the better. The more time passes, the more damaged the tissue becomes and the more difficult it is to improve. Stretch marks appear as marks on the skin, parallel, with different lengths, with thin and depressed epidermis, white_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-18d_bad5555 old) or rosada (recent stretch marks) The treatments we use most are carboxytherapy, dermabrasion, micro needle therapy, peelings, laser, plasma growth factors, vitamins, mesotherapy and cosmeceuticals that are used alone or, preferably combined, according to the clinical situation. Each protocol has its own specificities and has to be applied in a very individualized way according to the person's age, skin color, location of stretch marks, evolution time…. At Clínica MedicalStetic we have developed a method in which we combine several techniques to enhance their results.

Carboxytherapy has shown excellent results in the possible recovery of stretch marks, namely making them thinner, less deep and less noticeable.
