The Nd Yag laser is most commonly used in the medical treatment of vascular pathology.
The laser light is preferentially absorbed by the superficial vessels of the skin, which are thus coagulated and gradually absorbed by the body. The treatment is safe and considerably reduces the vascular component.
VARICES, VARICOSITIES and “VASCULAR SPIDERS”
Varicosities (“vascular spiders”) are small superficial blood vessels that are reddish or bluish in appearance. This type of vessel is more common in the lower limbs and sometimes can also appear on the face or other areas of the body. This pathology fundamentally causes an aesthetic "problem" , but it can also be accompanied by symptoms of tiredness and pain in the legs, with a worsening of the clinical picture as the years go by.
Lasers have been used for over 20 years in the treatment of varicose veins and varicosities (smaller vessels). The wavelength of these lasers is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the blood vessels and destroys them. We use a long pulse Nd Yag laser and also intense pulsed light techniques. These lasers have high specificity in the treatment of vessels of the lower limbs and also at the level of the face, both in rosacea and in small vascular effusions and more complex cases of facial angiomas.
The Nd Yag Vascular Laser is ideal in the treatment of various types of vascular lesions: telangiectasias, vascular spiders and some smaller vessels in the legs. Good results are obtained in the treatment of angiomas, striae and keloid scars.
